Running Doesn't Have to Break You.

Articles on heart rate training, nervous system health, and sustainable running. No fluff, no hustle culture.

Hi, I'm Brooke.

I’m a RRCA-certified run coach, RYT200 registered yoga instructor, and Certified in Urban Zen Integrative Therapy with 20 years of running and 7 marathons under my belt.

Running changed me from the very beginning. I just didn’t understand why.

I started in college, and it became a tool; something I used to ground myself, to cope, to feel like myself when nothing else did. As I grew and evolved, I started learning more about the mind-body connection, worked through childhood trauma, and began to understand what running was actually doing for my nervous system.

I loved it and wanted to know everything about it. That’s just my nature.

That curiosity led me to get certified in run coaching and yoga. But what I realized along the way is that I don’t actually want to coach or teach in the traditional sense.

I’m more interested in writing about it.

Breaking it down. Making sense of it. Putting words to the things we experience but don’t always understand, especially when it comes to running, emotional regulation, and the way our bodies hold onto things.

I do think I’m meant to guide people. Just not in person.

Through writing.

That’s why this place exists. Pull up a chair.

What I believe

The philosophy behind the work

Heart rate-based training, building an aerobic base, and learning to train without ego.

Nervous system regulation, fueling, metabolic health, and healing through movement.

Running community, intentional relationships, and finding your people along the way.
